Senior External Gardening and Sustainability Manager

An innovative and experienced manager who is strong and enthusiastic is required to lead the strategic development of the External Gardening offer to a market leading position with a focus on trends, sustainability, and consideration to our brand image.


Applicants must have a wide knowledge in horticulture and sustainability, with experience in retail and personnel management. They must have a positive attitude, excellent communication skills, know how to achieve KPIs effectively and have a desire to work with our senior management team to drive the overall success of the business.

Key responsibilities:

  • To lead the strategic development of the external gardening offer to a market leading position, ensuring synergy throughout the departments.
  • To work closely with the external gardening team to improve the sales and profitability of the department ensuring budgets are achieved
  • To drive the sustainability agenda and coordinate and communicate all activity across the business

42 hours per week to include bank holidays and alternate weekends with a set day off in the week

Purchase Ledger Administrator

Role

Thetford Garden Centre are looking for a Purchase Ledger Administrator to report directly to the Finance Manager.

Main Duties

The main responsibilities of the role will be coding invoices, data input and liaising with suppliers. In addition to this you will be required to carry out any other accounting duties required of you by the Finance Manager to achieve the company goals and objectives.

Role:

Thetford Garden Centre are looking for an experienced Payroll Administrator to Report Directly to the Finance Manager.

Main Duties:

The main responsibilities of the role will be to manage the company payroll function. In addition to this you will be required to carry out any other accounting duties required of you by the Finance Manager to achieve the company goals and objectives.

External Gardening Assistant – (Part Time, Weekends)

An opportunity has arisen for a Part Time External Gardening Assistant to join our busy External Gardening Department, working weekends only.

The successful candidate will ideally have some retail experience and a knowledge of plants.

You will have contact with customers within the department, and so the ability to successfully communicate your knowledge & passion for plants to customers and to inspire them is important.

Key skills required:

  • Knowledge of plants and their ongoing care
  • Good selling ability and customer service skills
  • Good merchandising skills
  • Able to work at a commercial speed
  • Physically fit and able to lift heavy items
  • Provide support when needed to the wider store
  • Willing to work in all weathers

Main duties will include:

Full Time General Sales Assistant

Main duties will include:

  • To serve customers to a high standard 
  • To merchandise and maintain stock to a high level
  • To proactively serve customers and actively sell to ensure weekly targets are met
  • To assist other areas of the business when required including tills (training will be provided)

Sous Chef

 This is a great opportunity for a Sous Chef to join an established business with an in-house public facing restaurant, working alongside the Head Chef in heading up the kitchen operation. Serving fresh, locally sourced produce in both Lime Kiln Kitchen and our new on-site venture, The Norfolk Pizza Co., you will have a passion for good food and consistently high standards.

Key skills required:

  • Experience gained working as a Sous Chef in busy commercial catering or restaurant operations
